I got a bit frustrated the first time that I used gimp as well. I eventually figured it all out in one go though. You sure you don't want me to try and teach you sometime, because once you know it is hard to forget and you can do a lot?.

This was the very first thing that I had ever made with Gimp on my first try.- [link] I also was able to majorly enhance the MOC's original image. It had a bunch of it's color washed out from the excessive lighting. If you want to see the MOC's original photo for comparison I'll send you a link.
